The Shreveport Pastel Society was formed in November of 2005 after a workshop held at the Hobby Lobby Classroom and conducted by Mr. Alan Flattmann, a nationally known pastelist from New Orleans.  There were twelve organizing members with Barbara Rushing as organizer. You may contact Barbara for information at BRushing@sport.rr.com or 318-865-6921.  The group has held pastel only shows at The Glen, The Barnwell, and the Broadmoor Library with upcoming shows at Columbia Cafe and in June 2007 at East Bank Gallery in Bossier City.  Membership is by application and submission of 3 digital photos of pastel paintings; the membership has recently grown to thirteen.
